CYBERCOMMANDER is a division of OMNICOMMANDER ran by our CISO and team of cybersecurity experts. Eric Isham, Founder & CEO of OMNICOMMANDER, recognized the gap in the credit union space with regard to cybersecurity in early 2020. The single most vulnerable part of any credit unions’ defenses are the staff. In order to make a difference that is systemic and helpful to the entire industry, the decision was made to get training to the staff of every credit union in the country. To increase the deployment and widespread adoption of the training, the decision was made to give it away for free. CYBERCOMMANDER provides training and auditing services for credit unions and their staff to ensure the highest level of knowledge when it comes to cybersecurity in order to keep their credit union safe, as well as their members who interact with their websites and conduct financial transactions online.
“It was right at the beginning of the pandemic that I really started to take notice of all the ransomware, security breaches, and cybersecurity issues happening in the world. Our credit unions were already reeling from the effects of Covid19 and were struggling to keep up with burdensome regulations. The expense of hiring a competent third-party cybersecurity firm to provide all the services that need to be done in a small shop was pretty much out of reach for most small credit unions. It clicked for me that we could be the answer to the problem. By dusting off the same playbook that we used to democratize websites and marketing for small to mid-sized credit unions, we could do the same thing for cybersecurity. And with that, CYBERCOMMANDER was born.”
